| So its storming outside...
And I'm thinking about the thunder and how powerful it is - how powerful God is. I don't think I can actually wrap my mind around it. This past week God has shown me physical reminders of his presence. He understands that we need these reminders to know he is truly there. He has left spiritual evidence - footprints - on my heart... but sometimes I need to see the visible evidence as well. Anyone can look at a thunderstorm and explain it with theories and science - but God's presence is all I need . He isn't just this perfect marble statue sitting up in the sky...God is right here. It's just harder to see Him sometimes with sin all around us.
Lord, let me be silenced in your power.

"Your right hand, O LORD, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O LORD, dashes the enemy to pieces. In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrew those who rose against you.Your anger flashed forth; it consumed them as fire burns straw. At the blast of your breath, the waters piled up! The surging waters stood straight like a wall; in the middle of the sea the waters became hard.

| The David Crowder/ Third Day concert was amazing. God definately reminded me what it truly means to worship Him. When I lift up my hands to praise him I can touch how beautiful he is... and even though I can't grasp everything he's done for me he still captures me in his love. I will never get tired of knowing he simply loves me. no questions asked. I hope you have experienced God's beauty. if you've ever heard the rain, or watched the sun spread light across the clouds, or seen a million stars in the sky, or held a baby, or heard a song that just took your heart to somewhere safe you have experienced God's presence. It's not complicated at all.

Job 37-
"Whenever this happens, my heart stops--
I'm stunned, I can't catch my breath. Listen to it! Listen to his thunder, the rolling, rumbling thunder of his voice. He lets loose his lightnings from horizon to horizon, lighting up the earth from pole to pole. In their wake, the thunder echoes his voice, powerful and majestic. He lets out all the stops, he holds nothing back. No one can mistake that voice-- His word thundering so wondrously, his mighty acts staggering our understanding. He orders the snow, "Blanket the earth!' and the rain, "Soak the whole countryside!' No one can escape the weather--it's there. And no one can escape from God. Wild animals take shelter, crawling into their dens, When blizzards roar out of the north and freezing rain crusts the land. It's God's breath that forms the ice, it's God's breath that turns lakes and rivers solid. And yes, it's God who fills clouds with rainwater and hurls lightning from them every which way. He puts them through their paces--first this way, then that-- commands them to do what he says all over the world. Whether for discipline or grace or extravagant love, he makes sure they make their mark. |
